Mateo Kovacic is already with Chelsea to finish his transfer
The Croatian footballer will seal his assignment with the 'blues'. Cuortois will make the return journey and will be the next goalkeeper for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic will undergo a medical examination with Chelsea, who in turn has opened talks with Milan on the assignment of Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Kovacic is ready to complete a one-season loan agreement with Stamford Bridge while looking to win more minutes than has been offered until the Santiago Bernabéu.
Kovacic would leave Real Madrid
Kovacic, comes after the request of coach Maurizio Sarri that the club signed a midfielder with characteristics different from those he had at his disposal.
Kovacic will probably play alongside N'Golo Kante and Jorginho in Chelsea midfield, although the Croatian international may need some more time to get the form right after the World Cup.
All of them are joined by goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after the 'blues' paid the money of the termination clause of what was hitherto Athletic goalkeeper. The Basque keeper is scheduled to replace Thibaut Courtois, whose operation with Real Madrid close to £ 31 million (34.4 million euros) should be announced on Thursday at the latest.
